Workshops/Classes

Workshops

2011 Workshops: Click HERE for more information.

Galina will not be back for another Superior Retreat of lace knitting in 2011

Classes

We have tried to divide the knitting classes into four levels of experience:

L- Learn To: Just that, learn something new.
B - Beginning Level: You can cast-on, knit, purl and bind-off.
N – Novice: You are comfortable with knitting, have some idea of gauge and have completed a couple of yarn projects.
C- Challenging: You have completed a number of different types of yarn projects and have done some color work.

These are guidelines, so check with us if you are unsure of where you may fit. Pre-registration needed for knitting classes that require tuition, not for Open Knitting events. Call for yarn training information. Some yarn classes call for pre-class homework!

Remember, with your Yarn Club card, after you purchase $200 in yarn you get $20 off on your next yarn purchase! And starting this Fall, we are giving 10% off on any book or pattern used in a class as the class pattern.

January 2012!

January 4th & 11th Wednesdays 10 – 1

Times Two Sideways Reversible Scarf

This is a pattern from Heart Strings Designs and it is easiest

to let Jackie describe it herself. “The “times two” reversible

technique intermixes hand spun or hand dyed yarn, or even

mixed dye lots, to get uniform thickness and color. The

sequence of two rows is begun on alternating ends of the row

in such a way that the yarn carried up the ends of the rows is

distributed equally. This avoids the double bulky edge at just

one end that results in the usual method of alternating yarns

every other row.

The scarf is knitted side to side in rows equivalent to the length

of the scarf. Matching cast on and bind off instructions are included.

You will need a number 5 needle

Cost of class $ 30 plus pattern and yarn
